The astronauts aboard the International Space Station dimmed the lights, turned off unneeded equipment and put off some experiments on Thursday as NASA scrambled to figure out what was wrong with a key cooling unit that shut down because of a faulty valve. NASA officials stressed that the six-person crew remained safe and comfortable.
